Unit 3 GRAVITATIONAL, ELECTRIC, AND MAGNETIC FIELDS
Overall Expectations:
D1. analyse the operation of technologies that use gravitational, electric, or magnetic fields, and assess the technologies’ social and environmental impact;
D2. investigate, in qualitative and quantitative terms, gravitational, electric, and magnetic fields, and solve related problems;
D3. demonstrate an understanding of the concepts, properties, principles, and laws related to gravitational, electric, and magnetic fields and their interactions with matter.
Teaching Strategies: Lecture, Teacher demonstration, Videos, Gizmos, Think pair share
Assignments: Special needs and ELL students will have a consultation with the teacher before the unit starts. Accommodation(s) and/or modification will
be considered on an individual basis.

Summery and Rationale
All the specific expectations will be covered throughout the unit in this course. Overall expectations will be tested at the end of the unit as a Unit Test. The students will be evaluated in three different ways (1) Observation (2) Conversation and (3) student work. The assessment of learning as planned, in the unit plan, will take place during and at the end of the unit.
Since I am using the current Nelson Physics Text book it closely follow the expectations. The way I organized to cover one section pre class but some classes will cover up to two sections. To make the lessons interesting I like to show some videos and some demonstrations to explain the specific expectations clear. The main idea of how this unit will be taught will be go over the topic of the day, do a couple practice examples and give students time to practice examples as well. The start of each class will involve answering student questions on homework. .
Students with special needs and ELL will be accommodated for every lesson. All SMART board presentations will be recorded and will be available after the lesson. As a classroom teacher I will try to accommodate or modify depending on students’ individual needs to make them successful so that I will be successful.
